Bonallack & Bishop   |  Salisbury    |   Fordingbridge   |   Andover    |   Amesbury

PARALEGALS – we take paralegal training very seriously and regularly take on paralegals as part of our Accelerated Development Programme. Click here for more details of our law graduate paralegal scheme. Regardless of whether we have any current paralegal job vacancies, we are always keen to hear from bright enthusiastic LLB and LPC graduates who are looking for entry-level legal jobs and a long-term legal career – and who live near to one of our four branch offices.

REMOTE WORKERS – please note that while some of our vacancies are entirely suitable for remote lawyers, we will only consider applications for these legal jobs from candidates who have already had experience of purely home working for law firms.

Residential Conveyancer – Full Time – Salisbury, Andover, Amesbury or Fordingbridge offices – REMOTE WORKING AVAILABLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated lawyer to join our fast growing CQS accredited residential property team.

This is another brand-new role necessary to cope with the increasing amount of work we are generating from happy clients and referrers.

So, if you are a confident, friendly and approachable conveyancer with excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate

The right candidate will have:

  • at least 3 years’ solid experience of residential conveyancing – either as a FILEX or Licensed Conveyancer, although we are happy to consider experienced candidates without legal qualifications
  • great people skills and will be an enthusiastic team player
  • good organisational, time management and IT skills
  • the ability to multi-task under pressure
  • a keen eye for detail
  • the confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment
  • excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
  • a history of strong billing
  • a desire and the ability to help in the growth of the property department

The job would not be suitable for a partner level candidate or solicitor. Furthermore there is no prospect of a management role for the successful candidate in the residential conveyancing team for the foreseeable future.

Location
Remote working is available, as is hybrid working or being based at any one of our 4 branch offices – Salisbury, Andover, Amesbury and Fordingbridge.

Remote experience required
Please note that while this particular vacancy is entirely suitable for a remote lawyer, we will only consider applications from remote candidates who have solid experience of purely home working for law firms and who are able to work without any direct supervision.

The team?
Overall, you will be part of our 30 strong property team.

You will have the support of both our specialist onboarding and post completion teams, and in addition we will be recruiting a new paralegal for you. But please note the new paralegal is likely to be an inexperienced law graduate – so an enthusiasm to assist with their training is important. However we do already have a structured and highly successful fast track training programme for our conveyancing paralegals.

Salary?
Market rate, dependent on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience

How to apply

3 X Consultant Fee-Sharing Lawyers – fully remote working available

  • (1) Commercial Property
  • (2) Residential Property
  • (3) Employment Law

We are looking for 3 enthusiastic and experienced lawyers to work fully remotely, or on a hybrid basis at 1 of our offices in Wiltshire and Hampshire, on a part time fee sharing consultancy based.

All 3 jobs are suitable for solicitors or legal executives who are able to run files without supervision. Currently we have 79 staff, and although the commercial and residential property roles will be part of existing teams, the employment lawyer will be our only lawyer dealing with that area of work.

So, if you are a confident, well-presented, friendly and approachable lawyer with excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate
The right candidate will have:

  • at least 4 years’ relevant and solid experience of High Street legal work in England and Wales

Your work
While we are perfectly happy for you to bring in your own work, we anticipate providing work for you.

  • Employment Law – currently we have to turn away or refer on any employment law enquiry. We have not had an employment lawyer for some time now and as a result have unfortunately had to take down the employment law pages on a website. In addition to our current enquiry, we anticipate that once the employment law pages are up again and Google recognises them, there will be an increase in enquiries. And we are confident that we can grow this work for the successful candidate. But we do not foresee generating enough work for a full-time position.
  • Residential and commercial property – these are our fastest 2 growing areas of work. Currently we have 25 people working in residential property and in addition, 2 solicitors who do nothing but commercial property work along with some residential property work for property investors nationwide.

The 2 positions are different. From time to time we already have almost too much work for our commercial property lawyers – and it would be good if we could have someone who is available as and when to take on extra capacity. For example 1 of our 2 commercial lawyers has unusually booked an extremely long holiday next year for family reasons and we would anticipate that the consultant would be in a position to take on quite a bit of that work while the 2nd lawyers away.

The residential property position is a little different. Our work is increasing rapidly and we continue to take on full-time staff. However again it would be really useful to have a safe pair of hands who we could refer work from time to time when the other members of the team are simply too busy – much better than taking on too much work or turning that work away.

Continue working for other law firms
We have no objection to the successful candidates working for other firms, or as an independent freelancer, in addition to these roles with us.

Our position
We are a successful mid-sized and growing law firm with 80 staff . We are looking for someone to work with Senior Partner, Tim Bishop, and our marketing team to help us grow these 3 areas of work.

We already have plenty of experience of making these kind of arrangements work. Although we remain essentially a High Street firm, we have numerous lawyers who work fully remotely – as far afield as Shrewsbury, the Isle of Wight, Spain and Florida! And equally, although the majority of our staff are salaried, we do have a number of lawyers already working on fee share consultancy arrangements – which we have successfully run for many, many years.

Fee sharing
The offer is very simple – a 50-50 split, with the work done under our indemnity insurance
